How to Request Books through Inter-library Loan

Please follow these steps to request a book, audio-visual, or microform material from another library. If you have any questions or problems with your request, please contact the Inter-library Loan Office by phone at 630-752-5843 or email.

    STEP 1. Search the Wheaton College catalog. See if the item is held either in Buswell Library or in the Billy Graham Center library.

    If the item is available, please do not place an inter-library loan request for it.
    If an item is held by Wheaton but is checked out or missing from the shelf, please proceed to Step 2.

    STEP 2. Search the ILCSO universal catalog. See if the item you are looking for is available for request through this consortium. View how to make an ILCSO request- Your book arrives on average within 3-7 working days

    If the item is not available, proceed to Step 3.

    STEP 3. Search WorldCat. See if it contains your item. WorldCat allows you to search for materials in libraries world-wide. WorldCat requests arrive on average within 5-10 working days

    -Search by title, author, ISBN number, etc.
    -Click on the title of the record that is the closest match to what you are looking for
    -Click on the ILL icon icon near the top of the page
    -Fill out the required personal information
    -Click submit

    If you cannot find and request your item according to steps 1-3 above, please contact either the Inter-library Loan Office or the Reference Desk for assistance.
